We are ALL looking forward to our next SF Green Drinks gathering – Tuesday, September 6th at 111 Minna Gallery. 
Our theme this month is focused on creating a sustainable, “environmentally thoughtful” work environment . . . How can you take steps, small or large, to help make your work environment more eco-friendly and healthy? Here are a few ideas to consider:
- Start a “bring-your-own coffee mug” party at your office – avoid non-reusable cups! Be a leader
- Look into switching out any non-reusable flatware for real plates, cups, utensils – if your office does not have them already (IKEA has great deals on plates and utensils!)
- Bring real plants into the office – add beauty and oxygen to your surroundings
- Look into telecommuting – if it’s an option. Save money, time and fossil fuel. (Studies have found that telecommuting boosts productivity too!)
- Switch to fair-trade, shade-grown coffee and eco-friendly (biodegradable/compostable/reusable) coffee filters for the office coffee pot
- Stock your lunchroom with healthy snacks provided by local farmers
- Be aware of your offices’ paper and ink use - support a recycling program, and switch to recycled paper and water-based inks
- Turn off (and unplug, if possible!) any equipment that doesn’t need to be on when you’re not in the office

Safety: Please be safe when coming to/from SFGD. If you would like someone to walk you to your bus/train stop or car, please let a greeter know. As always, please designate a driver if driving.
