Bay Maples is a design/build landscape construction in San Jose, CA, specializing in ecologically appropriate methods and materials. By salvaging, recycling and repurposing most of our project materials, we help save the client money, and many of our projects meet net-zero waste standards. Our gardens use native plants to create low water use gardens and support pollinators by mimicking ecosystems.  Bay Maples is greywater certified and implements greywater, rain-collection and diversion whenever feasible. We pride ourselves on creating gardens that are sustainable, artful, functional and welcoming.

Bay Maples recently designed a demonstration garden, ‘Buddha Bungalow’, for the 2013 SF Flower & Garden Show and has collaborated with schools (Booksin Elementary, Room to Grow) and non-profits (Boys and Girls Club, Veggielution, Full Circle Farm) to design and install community gardens.

Bay Maples is owned and operated by Alan Hackler. Alan is a LEED accredited, licensed landscape contractor and licensed nurseryman. He has completed the Bay Friendly, Master Gardener, and Build it Green programs. Alan also holds certificates in Permaculture design, commercial aquaponics installation and is a certified greywater system installer. Alan regularly teaches workshops, often through the California Native Plant Society.

Hello SF Green Drinks Friends!
