San Francisco Green Drinks
September 1st
“Into the Blue”

Hey Green Drinkers!

Please join us next Tuesday, September 1st for the next San Francisco Green Drinks.

Our September theme is a play on Paul Hawken’s idea that there is a sustainable core that pushes the Green movement. We must reach into the masses - the great blue beyond - to make sustainability happen! Our September sponsors work through ordinary businesses to accomplish extraordinarily sustainable ideas!

West Coast Green will be raffling off one full conference pass to their upcoming event at the Fort Mason Center, October 1st-3rd. The winner gains entrance to the entire West Coast Green conference, including access to all Keynotes, Leadership Summits, Education and Networking Sessions and full access to the Tradeshow Floor! A $995 value!

Bioneers will be raffling three 1-day tent passes to the Annual Bioneers Conference at the Marin Center in San Rafael October 16-18. Passes can be used on either Friday, October 16 or Sunday, October 18. A $95 value for non-members and $80 value for members.

Be sure to check out SFGD’s new Calendar! Come by and post an event on September 1st!

September Sponsors are MateVeza and Artful Change

MateVeza is a line of organic, naturally caffeinated craft beers brewed with yerba mate, the South American herbal tea. MateVeza’s newest release, Yerba Mate IPA, is an organic India Pale Ale that combines yerba mate’s earthy, herbal tones with bright hop flavor and aroma from Cascade, Centennial, and Simcoe hops. The yerba mate also provides an amount of caffeine equivalent to one half cup of coffee per twelve-ounce serving. MateVeza is brewed organically in Ukiah, California, so you can rest assured that drinking MateVeza in San Francisco supports both organic farming and local business.

Look for MateVeza’s 22-ounce bottles and new IPA 4-packs at local natural food stores and coops. And don’t miss the 2nd annual Beerunch, a beer and food pairing brunch featuring MateVeza and other morning friendly brews this October!

Artful Change creates art & music events to raise funds for other environmental and social nonprofits. Artful Change believes that art - and artists - can change the world. And now, there’s a lot about the world that needs the change that art can bring. That’s why Artful Change provides the social action network that brings artists and environmental groups together: Artful Change.

Artful Change shows you how you can become involved on a local, national or even global level. They will provide updates on environmental issues, access to information about environmental groups, and all the information you need to plan your own fundraising event. Use artfulchange.org not only as a resource for information, but as a way of meeting others and making connections. Post your photos and videos, start an event, or just meet others who want to make the change you want to see in the world.

The Below Zero debut CD, a highly acclaimed eco-friendly release titled Minus 1, is available on their website.

8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Jay Trainer is a singer and songwriter with a deep respect for life and the planet, Jay Trainer created Artfulchange to bring two of his passions together. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jay found his home - spiritually and musically - in San Francisco. Growing up immersed in the blues, soul and classic rock of the late 60’s and 70’s, he’s translated that into a musical style all his own. In addition to shows across the Bay Area, including many Artfulchange events, Jay’s thick, prolific guitar riffs and stark lyricism can be heard on his new album, Of the Sun.
